Job Title: Mental health system Director
Duty Location: Raleigh, NC 27607 (with limited travel)
Position Overview: The Mental health system Director provides top-level administrative execution, program development, and strategic leadership across multiple sites. This role focuses on optimizing crisis interventions, monitoring system metrics, providing technical guidance to clinical/non-clinical staff,
and serving as the primary behavioral health expert at high-level military and public health councils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Leadership: Oversee key functions including crisis intervention optimization, case management recording system currency, hotline scheduling, and medical outreach consent tracking.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Ensure clinical and non-clinical case managers coordinate holistic care plans across varying client issues. Schedule clinical deployments to support military redeployment operations.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Evaluate system-wide behavioral health trends; compile and submit annual Case Management Data Reports and annual Program Services Evaluation Reports to the COR. Review quarterly program usage and satisfaction metrics.
  • Event & Protocol Direction: Coordinate IMHS coverage at events such as Yellow Ribbon, Commander courses, Family Programs, and Military Funeral Honors training. Provide standard clinical protocols and technical guidance to the case management team.
  • External Representation: Serve as the IMHS expert at high-level NCNG Battle Rhythm events (e.g., Commander’s Ready and Resilience Council) and external public works groups (e.g., Governor’s Working Group, SAMHSA, VA Mental Health Summits, Duke/UNC research
    bodies).

Job Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree in social work or counseling.
  • Licensure: Valid North Carolina state license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT at the independent
    provider level (LMHC is considered an LPC equivalent).
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of full-time, post-licensure behavioral health experience; 5
    years within a military or public safety setting is preferred.
  • Management Experience: Proven track record in supervisory roles, program development,
    or program implementation directly related to mental health services across multiple sites.
  • Insurance: Active and current professional liability insurance must be maintained.

Job Title: Lead Clinician
Duty Location: State-wide North Carolina (Variable sites; subject to approx. 25% travel)
Position Overview: The Lead Clinician provides clinical supervision and operational oversight for a professional team consisting of 5 Clinicians and 3 Case Managers. This position balances a direct clinical caseload with leadership duties, including chart reviews, executing the mentorship program, and stepping in as the Acting Director when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Supervision: Provide comprehensive clinical oversight for professional counseling work (LCPC, LCSW, LCAS levels) addressing mental disorders, crisis interventions, psychological assessments, and Evidence-Based Treatments (EBT).
  • Quality Assurance & Chart Reviews: Responsible for conducting written, standardized clinical chart reviews on each of the 8 clinical team members on a monthly basis to ensure strict adherence to state, federal, and NCNG SOP documentation standards.
  • Caseload & Hotline Rotations: Carry an active clinical treatment caseload of approximately 15 clients (compared to standard clinician loads of 20). Share 24/7 toll-free Helpline queue rotation, maintaining an action response window within 30 minutes of a call.
  • Team Leadership: Facilitate bimonthly clinical team meetings and monthly case manager meetings. Administer the IMHS Clinician Mentorship Program for new hires during their 6-month onboarding cycle. Act as the Interim Director during director leaves of absence.
  • System Care & Representation: Ensure treatment plans and referrals are properly routed via G1 Medical Behavioral Health Operations Program (BHOP) SOPs. Perform or facilitate Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) briefings and serve as a subject matter expert on NCNG
    task

Job Requirements

  • Education & Licensure: Must meet the baseline qualifications of a Clinical Case Manager (Valid NC state license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT at the independent provider level). 
  • Certifications: Current certification/licensure in evidence-based treatment for psychological  trauma. 
  • Professional Standing: Maintain active professional liability insurance and good standing with all appropriate licensing boards.  
  • Experience: Prior experience supervising clinical teams and managing complex case routing within military or civilian health networks is highly preferred.

Job Title: Mental health system  Clinical Case Manager (Psychotherapist) Duty Location: Embedded within various NCNG armories and Reserve Component Family Assistance Centers across NC (Subject to approx. 25% travel) Position Overview: The Lead Clinician provides clinical supervision and operational oversight for a professional team consisting of 5 Clinicians and 3 Case Managers. This position balances a direct clinical caseload with leadership duties, including chart reviews, executing the mentorship program, and stepping in as the Acting Director when needed. Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Clinical Therapy: Provide licensed psychotherapy, bio-psychosocial assessments, diagnoses, and outpatient treatment planning for clients with behavioral health disorders.
  • Trauma-Informed EBT: Administer specific Evidence-Based Treatments (EBT) for trauma, including but not limited to Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.
  • Crisis Intervention: Action telephonic and in-person crisis response operations, including mandatory integration into the 24/7/365 toll-free helpline rotation.
  • Clinical Reporting: Draft and submit structured clinical analysis reports—including formulations, progress notes, and evaluations—to the COR on a quarterly basis to track behavioral trends.
  • Command Consultation & Briefings: Conduct Psycho-Education Briefings (Yellow Ribbon events, Unit Briefings, Orientations) and provide Critical Incident Debriefings. Advise military Command elements on clinical treatment recommendations and resources upon request.
  • Outreach & Mentorship: Perform monthly site visits to armories to build trust and market IMHS services. Transition clients properly to external networks when necessary and participate in peer mentorship loads (1:1 ratio) for incoming contract staff.
Job Requirements
  • Licensure: Valid North Carolina state license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT at the independent provider level. Continuous verification of renewal is required.  
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience in behavioral health, covering individual, couple, family, mental health, and domestic/workplace violence counseling services, psychopathology, and psychosocial dynamics. 
  • Special Certification: Current certification or licensure in evidence-based treatment for psychological trauma is mandatory. 
  • Insurance: Must maintain continuous active professional liability insurance coverage.

Job Title: Mental health system Non-Clinical Case Manager (Wellness Advocate)
Duty Location: Nomadic/mobile presence across various armories and units within NC (No permanent office assignment; requires field deployment to engage personnel)
Position Overview: Wellness Advocates provide vital non-clinical case management, serving as the nomadic field face of the IMHS program. They navigate complex civilian and military healthcare systems to coordinate integrated support systems for members dealing with behavioral health and substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Integrated Care Coordination: Manage and integrate non-clinical care elements across complex structures, including the VA, TRICARE networks, subspecialty hospitals, local providers, and internal IMHS resources.
  • Resource Referral & Navigation: Coordinate essential, non-clinical resource referrals to assist members with housing, financial strains, food security, shelters, utility assistance, and mortgage relief.
  • Crisis Identification & Routing: Immediately recognize and refer high-risk, mentally unstable,or suicidal crisis situations directly to licensed clinical staff or emergency response pipelines.
  • Community & Partner Vetting: Attend public and private events to actively vet, engage, and build community partnerships, expanding the database of external resources available to service members.
  • Briefings & Consent Management: Deliver behavioral health and program awareness briefings at Yellow Ribbon and related family readiness events. Manage the administrative execution, collection, and secure handling of client consent forms.
  • Reporting: Document cases systematically and compile monthly Case Management and Critical Cases Reports for submission to the COR.
Job Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a behavioral health science or social work field.
  • Experience (Master’s Degree Holders): Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience in a social work setting, including at least 1 year within a military environment.
  • Experience (Bachelor’s Degree Holders): Minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience in a social work setting, including at least 1 year within a military environment.
  • Special Criteria: Must be comfortable operating without a fixed office space, acting nomadically within armories to break down mental health stigmas through direct face-to-face engagement.

Job Title: Mental health system Coordinator 
Duty Location: State-wide North Carolina (Variable locations/telehealth operations)

Position Overview: The IMHS Coordinator executes essential program management, technical scheduling, tracking, and inter-agency coordination. This role ensures that both the internal team operations and externalsupportive networks function seamlessly to deliver care when and where members need it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Operations: Manage scheduling for the case management team, track on-call availability, maintain consent archives, and generate team travel authorization requests at least 14 days in advance. Co-manage system and database updates alongside the G6 coordination branch.
  • Program Alignment: Meet monthly with the Director to review program utilization trends and formulate proactive messaging strategies for service members.
  • Deployment Cycle Support: Plan and implement coordination strategies to support the NCNG Yellow Ribbon Program across all phases of the deployment cycle (pre-, during, and post-deployment).
  • Network & Agency Development: Build, maintain, and implement a structured network of agencies and resource organizations outside of the VA system to provide rehabilitative, educational, vocational, and crisis counseling services to veterans and their significant others.
  • Inter-Agency Liaison: Promote and sustain close working relationships with key NCNG programs (Sexual Assault Prevention, Suicide Prevention, Casualty Operations, Survivor Outreach Services, Soldier Resiliency, and State Family Programs).
  • Record & Medical System Tracking: Ensure all service member medical records comply with American Psychological Association Patient Administration Functions. Utilize registries and health information exchanges to guarantee care is delivered in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner.
  • Data Compilation: Consolidate program utilization figures, critical case summaries, and case management statistics into monthly, quarterly, and annual update files for the Director to submit to the COR.

Job Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a behavioral health or social science field.
    • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of post-graduate experience in behavioral health program
      management is preferred.
    • Military Navigation: Minimum of 1 year of post-graduate experience working directly with
      community resource agencies and military personnel is preferred.
